Jellyfish are a classification of cnidarian that includes the classes Scyphozoa (true jellyfish) and Cubozoa (box jellyfish). They are free-swimming animals that consist of a larger, usually saucer-shaped body with trailing tentacles. A third class, the closely-related Staurozoa (stalked jellies) are also included in this designation, but share few morphological similarities.
