This colonial ascidian consists of stalked zooids connected by a basal test. It has a transparent body, with four blue pigment spots around the siphons, including a row of three between the siphons, which is diagnostic. Found mostly on jetty piles and other artificial structures, it is widespread throughout the tropical and temparate Indo-Pacific.
