Cryptoplax striata

A long worm-like chiton, with the narrow valves embedded in a wide girdle, this species lives in crevices and under rocks in the intertidal and subtidal zones. This species has a much narrower area of the valves visible than Notoplax, and can be distinguished from C. iredalei by the larger spicules on its girdle, and its lighter and less strongly banded colouration.
