One of a handful of species given the common name "sea centipede", this species of elongated isopod is commonly found underneath rocks in the intertidal zone. This species can be recognised by the single point on its thorax, heavily ridged and robust body, and thick antennae that do not taper significantly. It is found in a variety of colours, from green to dark brown, or white with a central brown stripe.
