This large anemone is often found under rocks in both the intertidal and subtidal zones. Its thick tentacles come in a variety of colours, although usually from white to pink, contrasting with its dark oral disc. Likewise, its plainly-coloured column can be variable, in various shades of green, brown and pinkish-red.
