Distribution: All SA coast and gulf waters east of Port Lincoln
Habitat: Rocky coast and reef under rocks
Depth: Intertidal to 10+ metres
Like others of its genus, this chiton is commonly encountered under rocks, often in large groups. Its valves are dark with a blue-green sheen, and a raised, nodulose lateral area. Its girdle is narrow and dark brown, with a ring of smaller scales in its centre.
