The Western Jumping Blenny, which is actually a species of threefin, can be extremely numerous on shallow rocky shores. They are off-white in colour, with dark bands along the body and a series of vertical dark stripes on the cheek. They are relatively distinctive, but likely most often mistaken for certain species of goby, from which they can be distinguished by their blunt, squared-off snout.
