Nectocarcinus integrifrons - Rough Rock Crab

This subtidal crab lives amongst seagrass or around the base of jetty pylons. It is a reddish purple colour, although it often has a half-and-half pattern with the rear half being white in colour. It has black pincers, and tubercles on its legs. It is almost identical to the less common Nectocarcinus tuberculosis, but that species has a small cleft on its carapace, between its eyes.
