Aptychotrema vincentiana - Western Shovelnose Ray

A brownish ray, with darker brown blotches, particularly around the eyes, the Western Shovelnose ray is infrequently encountered in sandy areas and algae beds. It has a long pointed snout, with a row of small spines along the centre of the back. It is similar to some rays and skates, but can be distinguished by its long pointed snout, and relatively slender body.
