Distribution: SA coastal and gulf waters west of the Coorong

Habitat: Seagrass beds, sandy and silty areas, and estuaries

Depth: Subtidal to 10+ metres

This silvery schooling fish is found in sandy areas or over seagrass beds. They are torpedo-shaped and have 5-8 thin horizontal stripes along their body that are gold/bronze in colour.
