Halophila australis - Paddle Weed

Like its common name suggests, this distinctive seagrass has paddle-shaped blades that rise on short stems from runners, which are often buried under the substrate. There are often two or more translucent green leaves on each branching stem. This species has a unique appearance and is not likely to be mistaken for any other seagrass.
