One of the largest pipefish species in Australia, the Brushtail Pipefish can grow to more than 60cm in length. It is green to brown in colour with white spots and a brown mid-body stripe. It has a conspicuous fan-shaped tail. Although it has a similar pattern, this species can be differentiated from Stigmatopora nigra by its more slender body.
