Size: 10+ cm

Distribution: Few SA records. Gulf St. Vincent to NE Kangaroo Island

Habitat: Jetty pylons, rocky reef

Depth: Subtidal to 6+ metres

This compound ascidian is usually found on vertical rock walls and artificial structures. The test is dark brown to black, with large cloacal apertures, while the zooids are orange. This distinguishes it from other didemnid ascidians, of which a few have a dark or black test, as the orange zooids are visible through the test.
