Solanderia fusca

This large branching hydroid can be found growing on rock. It has thick brown to orange branches, on which the polyps grow. When present, reproductive goniophores are present as large white spheres. This species is rather distinctive, but is often mistaken for a gorgonian. However, it can usually be distinguished by its colouration.
