This rarely-encountered brittle star is known from only a handful of records, mostly in the tropics. It is white, with a brown reticulated pattern on the disc and thin brown bands on the arms. It can be confused with Ophionereis schayeri, especially juveniles, but can be diffierentiated by its brown disc and thinner arm bands.
