Dictyopteris australis

A flat-bladed forking brown algae, this species is a pale golden to greenish brown in colour, usually about 10-30 cm long. Its fronds have a distinctive pale vein-like midline, with tufts of short hairs growing from the midline to the edge of the frond, arranged in rows. These features help to ensure this species cannot be easily confused with other brown algae.
