Distribution: Few SA records. Distribution indicates it can be found across the entire coastline

Habitat: Rocky coast and algae beds

Depth: Mid intertidal to shallow subtidal

Found under rocks and amongst algae, this carnivorous isopod is easily recognisable. Mottled grey in colour, it has large black eyes and backwards-pointing antennae. The rear end resembles a shrimp tail, as the pleotelson and uropod segments are almost the same length.
