A distinctive introduced bryozoan, this species can be found in areas where there is significant shipping traffic. A translucent cream in colour, this species forms a loose tangled mass of long, straight branches, which appear smooth to the naked eye. On closer inspection however, each branch features two opposing rows of zooids which give the colony a slightly fuzzy appearance when the tentacles are extended.
