An introduced species, this small ascidian is found in aggregations on man-made structures. It has distinctive flared siphons, white with 4 black bands, but the brownish club-shaped body is usually heavily encrusted. This species can be distinguished from others by its black and white colouration and smooth-rimmed, flared siphons.
